Training

Our program is Classical Hatha Yoga based with emphasis on Patanjali's Yoga Sutra's and accented with understanding yoga in the real world.

"I learned to walk further down the yogic path toward inner peace.  Not only did I gain knowledge in anatomy, yoga philosophy and postures, but also learned that I can teach with confidence."  Carrie

Students enjoy a unique opportunity to learn asana with the use of Posture Pro technology. This equipment leads to a rapid absorption of  understanding and knowledge of each pose so that without the equipment you know how the body should be positioned in each pose.  There is no quicker or more effective way to learn .  This detailed knowledge of how the body works in asana produces confidence and skill in teaching and in in your personal practice.    This learning is integrated into a flowing practice with grace and mindful attention of detail producing a safe but challenging practice for students of all levels.  The universal knowledge acquired can be taken into any style of yoga for the most profound results of the practice.

"The asana practice on the Posture Pro is a definite plus - proper alignment is everything - the pro helps us to understand and feel proper alignment." - Pam

We utilize two studio rooms each week.  The "cave" contains our Posture Pro equipment where we learn foundation, structure, and details of biomechanics and breath. In our larger more open "white" room we utilize the principles learned to teach the postures free form safely and effectively in flow series, and discuss philosophy, meditate, and learn to teach pranayama effectively.

"I love this school.  I have no doubt that this was exactly what I needed in my life for the growth that I have been praying for."  Erin

The curriculum includes a thorough understanding of the importance of foundation, biomechanics,  healthy eating/nutrition, yoga anatomy, philosophy, class structuring, designing a class that is safe to teach and practice, asana flow sequencing, alignment adjustments, contraindications, pranayama, meditation, chakras, the business of yoga, and ethics.

Mentors

"Totally intense, cleansing, very understanding, and compassionate student body as well as staff... When I hear of those weekend cert. courses and how the quality of teachers from those are very low, I feel confident I am not in that category.  This cert. feels earned and I feel good about sharing yoga now." - Miranda
