Erin has been practicing as a Licensed Massage Therapist for the past 18 years. She has a Bachelors of Science degree in Community and Human Services and Health Science from SUNY Empire State College.
Her inspiration to become a Yoga Teacher, Massage Therapist and Holistic Practitioner stemmed from realizing the impact movement and distance running (volleyball and cross country running in high school) had on her mental and physical health. She learned hands-on healing over the years from her own wounds.
But, the above sports took a toll as both the meniscus and cartilage were damaged in both knees. Her Physical Therapy visits introduced her to physics, physical exercise and palpation skills in massage therapy. This quickly gave her insight into the beautiful response of her own inner physician. She experienced the effects of healing as a result of massage, movement, strength training and stretching without drugs or surgery at the early age of 17.
With training as a Certified Surgical Technologist, Erin has witnessed the acute traumatic onset of physical pain one endures as she has had opportunity to work with many trauma victims entering the operating room suites during clinical rotations at Erie County Medical Center in 2009.
Since then she has continued to work alongside surgeons and RNs, medical interns, and research scientists at Roswell Park Cancer and Research Institute, learning about the human body, how it reacts to cancer, how the connective tissues and organs respond, but mostly to how patients respond mentally and emotionally. Her experiences have lead her to conclude that living a life free from stress, addictive behaviors, pharmaceuticals, unclean air, food and water pollutants, and a sedentary lifestyle will enhance the health of anyone suffering from anything.
All of her life experiences drew her to the study of yoga where she learned to live more consciously, meditate more profoundly and, let go of her past wounds. Erin received her yoga teacher certification from the Himalayan Institute.
Yoga studies along with her present conscious active lifestyle, has helped her stay awake and mindful of the vast wisdom within, but it mostly has inspired her to help others along their healing journey.
Erin Loves teaching Yoga, doing yoga, being yoga, observing yoga, running, stand-up paddle boarding, biking, and showing others how to move their body and mind to create space for healing to enter. She shares the core existence of how we can tap into this space so that we may surrender and find balance authentically on an emotional, physical and mental level. A balance that essentially brings us to our inner bliss where Peace and Joy already await us.
