Health Tips
Where to Start
Start by creating a good basic health program that strengthens the entire body and mind. The following are some core nutritional focuses that help most people:
Drink Water! Herbal tea is fine. Drink half your weight in ounces everyday. For example: A 150lb person should drink at least 75oz of water per day. Drink only filtered or purified water. NO TAP WATER! Adding Chlorophyll & Colloidal Minerals helps to give your body an alkaline boost and adds much-needed trace elements.
Make a Smoothie Every Day! -because we are so used to sweets, start your smoothie with a banana and a pear or a mango or a pineapple or an apple, flaxseed, a handful of greens - like lettuce, romaine, kale, chard, dandelion, collards, spinach, and water. You may want to add mint or ginger too, but the fruits are plenty sweet.
For those who would like to reduce their sweet intake, try this smoothie: a cucumber base with celery and either kale or spinach, mint, and a few slices of green apple so that it's palatable. Otherwise, you won't drink it. Add water.
Eat at Least One Large Green Salad per Day Dark leafy greens are best. Eat 5-7 servings of raw or lightly steamed vegetables everyday. Super Algae or Barley Juice Powder or Greenzone are some of the products I recommend if you are weak in this area.
Get Fiber! Not only will this help improve elimination, but it reduces toxins in the system, lowers cholesterol and improves overall health.& weight management. Fiber acts like a broom in our digestive tract. Nature's Three and Psyllium Hulls Combination are good for this purpose. For people with sensitive colons LOCLO or Everybody's Fiber are better choices.
Enzymes. Since most people in our society eat primarily cooked and processed food, supplementing their diet with plant enxymes such as Proactazyme Plus or Protease Plus can be helpful. For Blood Type O people, Food Enzymes is a better choice.
Do Not Eat Bread Products Any starchy carbohydrate such as bread, pasta, crackers, muffins, etc. will constipate you even if made with whole wheat. These products "gum-up" the digestive system as well as break down into simple sugars (which convert to FAT). Stay away from products that contain the word "enriched". There are many sprouted grain breads and healthy pastas out there.
Stay Away from Dairy Dairy products, once homogenized and pasteurized, do not help us get calcium but do produce mucous and, many studies show, osteoporosis. Most yogurts are not healthy as they contain too much sugar and preservatives.
Avoid Soy. They rob your body of calcium and most are overprocessed. Check out the WestonPrice website for more info on the drawbacks of soy. Edamame is OK.
Avoid Caffeine & Carbonated Beverages. Coffee, carbonated drinks (even caffeine-free), chocolate and other caffeine containing products rob your body of calcium and create an acidic environment (unhealthy).
Minerals. The most serious deficiency in people is minerals, especially trace minerals. So, many people benefit from taking Colloidal Minerals or Mineral Chi Tonic. Mineral rich herbal formulas such as Herbal CA or HSN-W are helpful. And by the way, taking a calcium supplement is not going to do most of you any good. Most of the calcium supplements are from a mineral source and most of them are unbound. That is, they are not attached to an enzyme that leads them through the body allowing for absorption. No absorption, no good.
Vitamins. Many feel that a quality multiple supplement like Super Supplemental or VitaWave improves their basic nutritional intake. Others prefer whole food supplementation and use Super Algae or GreenZone
Essential Fatty Acids. Most people crave fats because their bodies are looking for essential fatty acids that are missing from the processed oils they consume. Super Omega 3 EPA, Super GLA or Flax Seed Oil can supply these essential fatty acids, reducing inflamation and the risk of cardiovascular disease.
Antioxidants. Fresh fruits and vegetables are rich sources of antioxidants - nutrients that protect the body against free radical damage which is linked with inflammation, degenerative diseasee and aging. Since most people are not consuming enough fruits and veges, antioxidants like Thai-Go and Nature's Noni help.
Exercise! Do yoga every day, or light cardiovascular and weight bearing exercises at least 3-4 times weekly. This will improve your metabolism as well as give you an overall feeling of wellbeing.
Avoid Artificial Sweeteners. These are the equivilant of poison in our body. There is so much literature out there about the dangers-- don't ignore it! Use Stevia, raw honey or Xylitol instead. High fructose corn syrup and white sugar are a "NO" as they are the #1 reason why we are overweight and suffer from type II diabetes.
Educate Yourself. The more you learn, the more you know. Take charge of your health and get proactive! You know more about you than your doctor does. DO NOT rely on your doctor to tell you about your health. They are disease specialists not health practioners.
Be A Healthy Weight! If you are overweight, start a program to shed pounds. Obesity leads to an early grave! We also offer customized consultations.
Get Outside. Natural sunlight is the best source of Vitamin D. People who do not have enough Vitamin D3 are more prone to cancer and thyroid issues. Even 20 minutes a day outside can make a huge difference.
Meditate or Pray each day.
Be Happy! Studies show that happy people are less likely to get sick and they live longer.
