Self-Care and Healing through Yoga Nidra; Conscious Deep Relaxation

How well are you loving yourself? Are you feeling stressed? Overwhelmed? Struggling with imbalance? Disease? Then, take time to focus on YOU in this afternoon workshop with Beth Polito, RYT 500.

It’s so easy to place our own needs aside, especially when we are busy taking care of others and dealing with the demands of life. Make yourself a priority! Join us for an afternoon of nurturing yourself: Quiet the mind, relax your nervous system, and move into balance.

This workshop will include discussion around the practice of self-care, gentle movement, conscious breathing, and simple yet powerful exercises you can take away to help nurture yourself during these stressful times. No experience in Yoga is necessary...all levels welcome. There are no contraindications for this practice; it truly is for everyone.

The main focus of our workshop will be a practice of Yoga Nidra, Conscious Deep Relaxation. In this 50-minute guided savasana you will be led to the space between being awake and asleep. There you will quiet the mind, release the external body, settle the nervous system, and create balance and peace in all aspects of your life. Yoga Nidra directly influences the physiology of the body and stimulates the healing process. One hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to three hours of restorative sleep!

Benefits include:

reduced stress
better sleep
higher productivity
reduced anxiety and depression, including PTSD
decreased pain
strengthened immune system
increased level of well-being
lower blood pressure
and more!

Take an afternoon to love and nurture yourself. Join us for Yoga Nidra.

Please bring a small pillow and a yoga mat.

Elizabeth Polito is a Buffalo native who now lives in Los Angeles. She graduated from UB with a degree in Theatre and Dance, and has performed in musicals on Broadway, across the US, and across the globe. Her dance training made Yoga a natural fit, and she fell in love when she first encountered Yoga back in a college acting class. She was amazed at how dramatically her energy state shifted after asana and how quickly Yoga helped to calm her nerves before auditions or performances. The breath had the ability to change everything!

She is a 500+ RYT trained in Hathavidya, Vinyasa, Reconnective Yoga, and Yoga Trance Dance. In addition to teaching Yoga, Beth has an active Energy Healing practice, and holds certifications in multiple modalities. She works with animals, individuals and groups, and is especially proud of her work with those in transition, caretakers, as well as those facing terminal diagnosis and end of life concerns. www.elizabethpolito.com

Beth's Yoga class focuses on proper alignment, use of breath, and the energetics of the physical body, etheric body, as well as the energy of the field around you. She uses movement, breath, and awareness to empower her students to expand their practice to new heights while bringing their whole being into balance. Her class is unique in that she combines the use of healing frequencies, light, energy psychology, and visualization with the traditional practices of asana, pranayama, meditation, and mantra.

She has traveled across the US incorporating Reconnective Healing frequencies into Yoga, and was honored to teach at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health. She believes that Yoga is for everyone, regardless of their level of flexibility or fitness. It is a personal journey toward one's most Divine state of being.
